Streak-Free Window Cleaning – Tips From Housekeeping Services
Streak-Free Window Cleaning – Tips From Housekeeping Services: "Don’t you just hate when you open your blinds a few minutes after scrubbing your windows and you find them streaky and grimy already? There is an art to cleaning windows, and unless your housekeeping services in New Jersey is extremely thorough, you might find yourself with streaky, grimy windows soon after they leave.
The art of streak-free window cleaning is a complicated one indeed. Begin by gathering your supplies together. First, you’ll need a cleaning solution of a capful of ammonia mixed in two gallons of water. Regular soap leaves a filmy white residue on windows, but ammonia provides a powerful cleaner without streaks or greasy film. You’ll also need a sponge to apply the solution to the windows and a squeegee brush to remove it. Paper towels will be used to remove excess water, as the lint from regular towels tends to stick to glass, leaving behind unsightly flecks of color on your freshly washed window. Look for a paper towel that has a particularly papery texture, not a linen or reusable texture." ...

Garden Pergola
Garden Pergola: "Pergolas have been around for thousands of years and their earliest use resembled a small archway rather than the large pergolas many people have today. Pergolas are still used in this manner, particularly in gardens where they are sometimes referred to as a garden arbor. No Weeds, No Guilt. Tips for a Toxic-Free Lawn or Garden
No Weeds, No Guilt. Tips for a Toxic-Free Lawn or Garden: "Nothing makes a hard core green thumb madder than weeds in the lawn or garden. They're ugly. They compete for light, water, and nutrients. Sometimes they make you itch or sneeze! It's no wonder that Home Expo Mart has aisles and aisles of chemicals that you can use to kill those weeds before they take over your favorite green spot.
The problem with pesticides is that they don't stay where you put them. Every time it rains, the water runoff washes trace amounts of the chemicals away -- into the nearest creek. These pesticides add up in the water supplies downstream from you. And the green thumbs applying pesticides upstream from you... well, let's just say that here in the DC metro area, tapwater is safe to drink. But using alternative methods to kill the weeds in your lawn and garden is responsible behavior."

The Versatility of Spray Foam Insulation
The Versatility of Spray Foam Insulation: "As an insulation material, spray foam is perhaps one of the most preferred choices, simply because it surpasses the energy efficiency of many other traditional insulators and is environmentally friendly. However, spray foam's versatility is another good reason to use and love it. What makes spray foam versatile is a combination of the material itself and the installation method used when working with it. Simply put, spray foam insulation is about as versatile as an insulation product gets.
Spray foam allows for retrofitting insulation in existing buildings. It can be applied to all those awkward crevices, and around joists and beams that create formations inaccessible by other types of insulation. In addition, spray foam is architecturally versatile because new home design and existing home features do not need to be modified or compromised when using spray foam insulation." ... The Many Uses Of Embroidery
The Many Uses Of Embroidery: "Handcrafting or decorating fabric is the art of embroidery by using a needle with thread or yarn. Using materials to include in embroidery may consist of pearls, beads, metal strips and can also include sequins or quills. Embroidery is basically a design that can either be stitched from the top or you can go through the base of the fabric which depends on the placement of the stitch. Some people call embroidery stitches, short stitches.
The smallest stitch is known as the embroidery stitch. There are other types of embroidery which use knots and they are sometimes known as Candle wicking, these knots are formed by creating a figure 8 going around the needle. To make different types of embroidery patterns you have many stitches, these can either be the same or different ones, and one of the best ways is to count a chart on paper, follow a design that has been painted on fabric or try to do this using freehand." ... Canvas Prints Is More Than Affordable
Canvas Prints Is More Than Affordable: "The quickest way to give the interior of your home or office a fresh and innovative look is to consider purchasing some artwork. That is nothing new and works done by well known artists can cost you a fortune. Thus the quickest way to decorate your place can turn into the most expensive one. If you are that lucky person who can afford it, you can buy paintings of famous artists or find modern abstracts at a nearby art studio, but in the majority of cases, these options are out of the question for many people due to the transcendentally high costs." ... PLANT A NATIVE WILDFLOWER GARDEN
PLANT A NATIVE WILDFLOWER GARDEN: "Armed with field guides and a knapsack I would attempt to identify and list every species of wildflower I would encounter. Those plants that I couldn’t pinpoint in the field would sacrifice a flower and a few leaves and be the subject of intense scrutiny that evening on the kitchen table. There, the writings of Munz and Jepson and others far smarter than I would tutor me.
Many of those local wildflowers have since given way to development and urban sprawl, and ironically, to home gardens where a different array of plants are intensely cultivated. Why not grow at least a few of our local native wildflowers in your own garden? I’ll tell you how." ... (Click on title link above to learn about planting a native wildflower garden.) ...

YARD WORK AS VIEWED FROM HEAVEN
YARD WORK AS VIEWED FROM HEAVEN: "God: Francis, you know all about gardens and nature; what in the world is going on down there in the U.S.? What happened to the dandelions, violets, thistles and the stuff I started eons ago?
I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought, and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honeybees, and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of color by now. All I see are patches of green.
St. Francis: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. They are called the Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers 'weeds' and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass.
God: Grass? But it is so boring, it's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, bees or birds, only grubs and sod worms. It's temperamental with temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want grass growing there?" ... (Click on title link above to read a make-believe humerous interchange between God and St. Francis about yard work.) ...

Making Fun Beads for Kids with Polymer Clay
Making Fun Beads for Kids with Polymer Clay: "Creating clay beads can be a fun activity for young and old alike. You may want to produce fun clay beads for kids or you may be interested in polymer clay beading as a creative activity in which kids can participate. Either way, you'll find the use of polymer clay in bead making to be an easy and fun creative practice.
Many bead makers use polymer clay alone to create their beads but you should keep in mind the expense and weight of the beads in making your material decisions. Big beads created from clay can be nice in appearance but they can also be heavy to wear as jewelry. Clay can also be a relatively expensive material which makes it more cost effective to consider using a filler bead in creating polymer clay beads for kids' jewelry." How to Upgrade to a new luxury bath
How to Upgrade to a new luxury bath: "A bathroom is very different than any other room in the house. It offers the house its essential style status. The quality of a house’s design and style quotient come from the designing quality of its bathroom. A Jacuzzi, a walk in shower, a sauna bath would glam up the entire bathroom and might even become the talking point for visitors. This is one reason why the market for luxury bathrooms has grown considerably.
After the kitchen, the bathroom is probably the second most frequented place in any house. It would do a lot of good not only to the house but also to the owner if a little money were spent in order to upgrade the bathroom to a better level. Luxury bathrooms are the best way to upgrade and can at once improve the value and feel of the home. They are the final word in bathroom style and fitting. Luxury bathrooms come in many different ranges catering to a variety of styles. The customer can choose from a variety of styles from Art Deco to Greco Roman and savoir-faire Victorian designs along with the chic modern and techno for people with an advanced mind." ... Non Toxic Paints Better for Your Health and Home-00-6378
Non Toxic Paints Better for Your Health and Home-00-6378: "Many of us are blissfully unaware of the paint & coatings chemicals we are exposed to everyday. Unfortunately, many in the industry are also naïve when it comes to the common ingredients in conventionally made paints. This page is intended as a brief education for those who are interested, and a reminder that the complex chemistry of coatings needs to be monitored carefully by both users and producers alike. We are a petrochemical based society, but there are many areas which are turning to bio-friendly alternatives. With the help of Earthpaint, paintings and coating are heading in the right direction though the high production of toxic, dangerous paints continues." MY LAWNMOWER CONFESSION
MY LAWNMOWER CONFESSION: "For one dollar per address, I would manicure the neighborhood into a fine green carpet, every blade perfectly in its place. An old push mower at first gave way to a bright red gas-powered rotary mower. Eventually, I worked up to the Rolex of mowers at the time, a McLane front-throw, self propelled, 7-blade, 21 inch beauty. Briggs and Stratton, 3.5 horsepower with a fire-hydrant yellow finish. It was the envy of the lawn mowing neighborhood.
But maybe I dislike mowing lawns because I now see the insanity of the process. Fertilize and water incessantly to make the millions of tiny green blades grow quick, tall and straight. Once they do, push the fancy metal machine over them and slice them off, back to where they were before the water and fertilizer. Feed, water and slice. Feed, water and slice. Repeat each week indefinitely. Hmmm." ...( Click on title link above to read about the practical metamorphisis of a lawn mowing maven.) ...

Why Spray Foam Is the Insulation of the Future
Why Spray Foam Is the Insulation of the Future: "Traditionally, insulating a home or business premises has included the use of products such as fiberglass or cellulose because they are cheap to install. While both products were initially effective, they absorb and retain moisture, causing long-term dampness and encourage mildew. Because of the porous nature of fiberglass and cellulose, they also leak, making heating and air conditioning systems less effective. This leads to the need for constant maintenance and even replacement. Happily, a more effective product is available in spray foam." ...
